Editor, promoter of Polish literature and specialist in the Polish language. She graduated with a degree in Polish language studies from the University of Warsaw. In the 1980s she worked with the underground publication “Wola”. Later she accepted a position with the publishing house “PoMost”, which was coming out from underground. From 1991 to 1997 she was a co-editor of “Ex Libris”, a literary supplement for “Życie Warszawy”. After the regime change she participated in the seminars dedicated to the free market for books, which were organised by the “France Edition” and “Börsenverein”. There she met her future partners, Wojciech Kuhn and Adam Widmański, with whom she founded the Wydawnictwo W.A.B. publishing house in 1991. She is responsible for the publishing programme at the firm, as well as procurement and sales of copyrights. She was one of the first in Poland to undertake to sell the rights to books by Polish authors. She has been honoured with the award for “Deserving Cultural Activist.” In 2002, along with her partners, she received the title of Creators of Culture from the weekly magazine “Polityka”. In 2006 she was recognised by the President of France with the Chevalier Ordre national du Mérite for the promotion of French literature and her European publishing programme. In 2008, “Polityka” awarded her first place in the ranking of most influential figures in the field of promotion of Polish literature.

She will host the “Atlas Kobiet” (Women’s Atlas) meeting a Klub pod Jaszczurami on 3 November at 8:30 p.m.
