The Polish authors Marek Bieńczyk, Dariusz Czaja, Michał Komar and Tadeusz Sławek took part in a debate closing the 1st Joseph Conrad International Literature Festival entitled The end of the essay, the end of thinking? The meeting in Massolit Books was chaired by the literature scholar Roma Sendyka.

The discussion devoted to the condition of the Polish publishing market attracted a significant portion of the large audience attending the Book Fair in Krakow. Beata Stasińska, Jacek St. Buras, Małgorzata Szczurek, Piotr Marciszuk, Rafał Skąpski and Anna Marchewka talked about the current situation of publishers and the future of literature.
