Literature and music
« back
Relations of literature and music are emphasised practically on every day of the festival: music of the past masters used as a soundtrack of the film Alan Corneau performed by Jordi Savall and text recited by Pascal Quignard, an ancient melodeclamation of professor Hagel with an attempt at recreating the ancient Greek\'s method of playing music, an experiment of creating drama in the spirit of music in the Ancient Cosmos of the Gardzienice Theatrical Practices Centre with Zygmunt Konieczny’s music, Feliks Mandelssohn Bartholdy’s musical adaptation of Midsummer Night’s Dream based on William Shakespeare’s play directed by Paul Goodwin and Peer Gynt Edvard Grieg, based on Henrik Ibsen’s play in combination with the declamation of literary texts.. the music becomes an inseparable context for literary meetings of writers, critics and readers.
