Description Trzaska & Stasiuk - inauguration concert
Andrzej Stasiuk: narration
Mikołaj Trzaska: clarinets
Raphael Rogiński: guitar
Paweł Szpura: percussion instruments

The 2nd edition of the Conrad Festival will begin with a powerful musical & literary event prepared specially for the festival. The stage in the Fabryka Club will be a place where the writer Andrzej Stasiuk and the musician Mikołaj Trzaska will meet. The author of Galician Tales will read fragments of his new book Dziennik pisany później (A Journal Being Written Later) and musicians – Trzaska on clarinets, Raphael Rogiński on guitar and Paweł Szpura on percussion – will provide extraordinary musical accompaniment. It is worth mentioning that fragments of Dziennik pisany później have been published so far only twice in Tygodnik Powszechny. The audience of the inauguration concert of the Conrad Festival will have the first opportunity to listen to that text being read by the author himself. We invite you to come!

It is not the first literary & musical meetings of Stasiuk and Trzaska. In 2007, they created an album Kantry, which is a record of a trip to the Balkans. Stasiuk’s narratives – stories of places that are difficult to find on the map, of tastes, pictures and people who remain in our memory – were supplemented by a musical story invented by Trzaska, which resulted in a haunting and fascinating spectacle.
It is worth mentioning that Mikołaj Trzaska has already worked on similar projects with Marcin Świetlicki (Cierpienie i Wypoczynek /Suffering and Rest/) and another guest of this year’s Conrad Festival, Yuri Andrukhovych (they recorded an album Andruchoid together).
